... Slovenia the country it is today. That night we went to the coast, Piran. It was really cool once we climbed up to the top of the hill we were able to see the entire city along with Croatia and the boot of Italy! It was so neat.
We explored the city, visiting the various shops, and headed back to a new hotel on the coast because it was more convenient than going all the way back to the city. We were suppose to go to the salt fields but we ran out of time. ...

... the road. This magnificent and impregnable castle has been perched in the middle of a vertical 123m high cliff for more than 700 years. It looks pretty cool as it is actually set into the cliff face.

We then drove a bit further down towards the coast and had a beautifully scenic drive from Kocep along to Piran, very mediterranean-y and a perfect sunny day. That's what we found so great about Slovenia; you could be in the mountains ...

... caught up on the history I missed in school... Padua - a university town, the 3rd oldest in Europe, where Galileo taught. We visited St Anthony of Padua Cathedral, gothic architecture. We are staying near Venice, on the Adriatic Sea. Lovely, lovely seaside town with a marble boardwalk, fine sand and the roar of the surf (collected seashells to show Hope and Chloe) Our guide arranged for a turkey dinner for us, an unusual meal for Italians, nice touch. Tomorrow Venice! ...

... tem naj bi začela s pakiranjem, ampak se je teta oglasila na obisku. Uredila sem še svoj prenosnik, da ga bo lahko Simon formatiral. Mama je začela s pripravo pice, vmes je poklicala Petra. Kr naenkrat je bla ura že 19h. S težkim srcem sem se nazadnje le lotla pakiranja.
