      ... couple of kilometres from here). Exhausted we make our way back down, gelato to power up, ferry back to home and cook up dinner.
      Today we are back on the ferry to Como, walk along the foreshore to check out some large villas on the west side - now all owned by the Como Provincial Government, then onto the 'fast boat' and up to Menaggio which is midway north up the lake.       We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      ... have to get on the autostrada some of the way to get some kilometers behind me, it was a long drive.
      I have really enjoyed driving along the Mediterranean coast, but heading into the mountains again was nice. There wasn't much traffic on the smaller roads and the weather was still really nice.


      I could see snow covered mountains to the West and asume it was the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence area in Southern France. ...

      ... Like I said to Simon Hemsley, the water colours - a bit smudgy, the oils OK but the mix media - ****. Still it was pretty interesting.


      Then we tried to do some Swiss shopping and really only managed to get some chocolate, which will be mutely enjoyed. Tried some Swiss watches but decided to leave it as I have already bought a 5 Euro watch at the Bologna markets from a certified Bangladeshi watch maker.

      ... a pillared cupola on top of a cupola on top of a cupola, rising to dizzying height. And inside you can hurt your neck by looking up at that cieling 100 meters up... The challenge? To take a good videoclip with this as a backdrop. Unfortunately there's no spacious piazza next to this cathedral so you can't get far back enough to fit it all into a picture... maybe from another spot in town... I continue exploring the city.
