Ghent is one of the oldest towns dating back to the 12th century. Dominating the old medieval quarter is an imposing castle called Het Gravensteen or Castle of the Counts. This is a very memorable town as I had the most amazing Belgian Waffles with Chocolate and whipped cream . . . . OMG to die for! ... had said. Then it dawned, about 100 kilometres north, we had passed a sign for S - Hertogenbosch - Mevrouw had got the wrong "Bosch".
Her only saving grace, the campsite is free for the weekend. Why? Nobody seems to know but it is 5 star, located in a nature reserve with excellent facilities. Mevrouw might just retain her position as Head of Planning and Strategy.

That afternoon, with preliminary contract in hand, we headed out to see the house.
From the outside the house is stunning. The entry is equally stunning. Exposed brick, dark wood, tile floor. To me it was just warm and inviting. Each room was equally inviting and the whole time V and I are looking at each other in disbelief that this house is in our price range and giving each other nods of approval.
