Oh dear, what a sad place this is. After a lovely sea day travelling through the Dardenelles, Sea of Mamara, past Istanbul into the Bosphorus Strait and into the Black Sea, we ended up here this morning. We finally decided we better go ashore and see for ourselves the reports we had from previous visitors, and it unfortunately lived up to their dismal descriptions. Everything is ...

Ros and most of the passengers have left the ship for Transylvania and an overnight stay. I have opted to stay on board and to do the half day tour today. After seeing the crowd off on their long trip to Transylvania the 7 of us and two staff had a lovely morning seeing the old town of Constanta - a walk through the old city, visit to an archaeological museum - ...

We went first to the old center of town where they are attempting to restore ancient Roman ruins. There is a large ...

... we get the sense that he is very envious of the privileged life we live in Western countries. After a nice drive, we arrive at the river and board our boat. I'll just say our cruise thru the Delta is relaxing. There are over 200 species of birds to see here but, as you may well know, those little critters can be pretty evasive sometimes. We do see a couple of white swans from a distance and a few birds in the trees, but it's not exactly what ...

... To get to the caverns we first went on a bus for about 2k’s into the mountain side, then walked down 200 odd steps into the first of the caverns. It is massive, maybe 100m long, 40m high and same wide. It was probably the longest we entered but not the highest, one was much higher.

These caverns are popular for the treatment of respiratory problems, especially asthma. The place was full of families and there was a vast number of activities for ...
