    ... to just walk in and book a bed in person. Unfortunately, I was not informed it was take advantage of tourists day. When I ask about booking one of the available beds the owner barely acknowledges me and tells me only private rooms left for 70€. I was already upset with my train experience and was not in the mood for this guy's nonsense. I sternly tell him I know you've got beds available for less than that.     One of the highlights of the trip so far was our morning ballooning with Chris and Claire from "Ballooning in Tuscany". We had an early start (5am) to be down at the launch field for 5.40am and then we took off at about 6.30-6.45am on a beautifully sunny morning with fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside - the pictures hopefully do it more justice than any description I can ...

    ... the piazza in front of the massive Cathedral with its ornate facade. A gentleman in the town hall across from it struck up a conversation with us and said it took 12 generations of builders to complete the structure. The town had a nice semi urban vibe to it and I noticed it is on the main train line between Florence and Rome. Easy to revisit without a car. :-)
