... had several delicious meals, gyros everyday for lunch, visited the New Acropolis Museum, and many archeological sites in a walking tour organized by the hostel, went on numerous shopping trips through the Plaka and beyond, and, you guessed it, got myself a date. We return for an afternoon nap. Dinner in Athens begins at 8pm or later,so restaurants are closed. The sun set brilliantly out of our balcony window. With the Acropolis lit up to our left, it was awesome. A glass of wine on the rooftop, then down among the music and bustle of the street, we found our way to St. Georges Square and dinner.

The next day me and Emma visited the Acropolis Museum which was so cool to see as they had a DVD showing how the Parthenon use to look and had loads of the statues around which was amazing to see even though they were only partial. To see a part of history up close and personal was such a wonderful experience.
We then went to the Archeological museum which was cool too as it had heaps of different artefacts and statues ...
... I tried the Caramel Bavaroise. The crunchy biscuit with caramel acquires its characteristic creamy airy texture. Worth giving it a try!
Surely not miss the White Chocolate Mousse with yogurt. It’s simply great! The forest fruit sauce adds color and flavor to the crispy puff and the presentation is unbeatable!
TIP: If you are using the funicular to get down, be sure you have coins to avoid delay. Going down by the stairs and leading ...

And best of all…free tap water and no cover charges! (unlike Italy).
I asked the waiter to teach me how to say “thank you” (efharisto) in Greek (I had it on my cheat sheet but didn’t know how to pronounce it) and he laughed at my attempt…lol
