... an olive harvest over the border in Tuscany, we had to leave the relative comfort of this place behind. It is easy to become used to life with a well-to-do ex-pat family. Dropped off at the market in a nearby town, we were suddenly foreigners, stumbling through our patchy knowledge of Italian with the locals to find our way to the train station.
