... a browse through their beer selection and as I was doing so the waitress extolled the virtues of the Aventinus Eisbock.
She said it was a 12% beer that still had a Belgian fruity quality but with the 12% kick.
Had to give it a go and after half a glass on top of the 9% tripel I just had before am really feeling that kick as I write this!!!
Lucky she gave me some bread and crisps to go with the beer...

A Quicky, Sicky Day Trip To Pisa

... river! It was pretty cool. We discovered that this church was built in the 14th century to house a thorn from Christ’s crown. Kind of interesting.

Crossing the river at Ponte di Mezzo, we sluggishly walked onward to Piazza dei Miracoli, where Pisa’s massive cathedral, baptistry, and famous Leaning Tower all are. The piazza itself is one of the loveliest we’ve seen – sprawling green lawns, teeming with ...

Next day we had a sleep-in and then went for a run around the 4km city walls. Twice around was enough for Kim and I managed a 3rd. After a shower we were back in town for more meandering and I had one of the best Cupuccio's (Capuccino) ever!! We found a few hours during siesta to catch up with the ...

Day in Pisa

Just realized those not on facebook haven't seen pictures from Pisa and Florence. No long recap of Anthony and I's weekend in Tuscany, for obvious reasons. Also note that "Anthony and Alison's Great Adventure" was like taking a knife.

Love you guys! :)

Cinque Terre

... eyes, uugh. I got pasta with eggplant that melted in your mouth, Mmmm. We got dessert and wine, and it was a delicious first meal in Italy. The next day we did a short easy hike from Riomaggiore to Manarola, also known as Lovers' Lane. It was about 1km and basically along a cliff. I was pretty uneasy the whole time, due to my fear of heights, but other than that is was beautiful. The weather was perfect, the sun shining, the ...

... there were a ton more stairs to climb, but you know I'm in shape:) I breezed through Corniglia, and then on my path to Manarola, there was a little bar, where I stopped for a banana, and a HUGE water, because although most of the path was in shade since it was still morning, I was super sweaty (surprised anyone?), and needed to rehydrate. When I got to Manarola, I took a quick look around and then headed to Riomaggiore. By now I was starting to get quite hungry. When I ...

... the top, and after climbing an additional two flights of stairs within our building, we finally found our nice little room and even nicer bed. The next morning, we awoke to the distant sounds from the street far below. I found a passage leading out to a private balcony, carved into the side of the cliff. There was nothing below but the blue sea stretching out to the horizon. Looking along the coast, huge hills met with the sea, their slopes clothed in olive ...
