... on our way to Levanto and had a glimpse of the beautiful coast that we would later be visiting. We made our way to our hostel and then headed to a Rick Steve's recommended restaurant for a delicious dish of ricotta and herb filled pasta with walnut sauce. We stocked up on cheese and snacks for our hike the next day and headed to bed early. Early the next morning we headed to the tourist information to purchase our Cinq Terre pass ...

... seafood, a little expensive, and Pete had to dodge the drips from the umbrella as we ate outside..... But we could head straight up to our room afterwards.
A great day on the Cinque Terre; a number of the trails are closed, although the one to Vernazza our next town south is open, so we will either walk that trail or take the ferry tomorrow, depending in the legs and weather.

... because frankly they look disgusting, but I managed to eat 2/3 of them and the rest I donated to dad. The prawns were also interesting to eat since I had to de-shell it but otherwise it was delicious.

After a day of hiking and a belly full of good Italian food (finally) we headed to bed and got a good nights sleep while the sea could be heard in the background. It reminded me of my time in South Africa being near the ocean and being soothed to sleep by the ...
