We arrived in Basel as the starting point for our trip into the Black Forest region of Germany and left it feeling we would love to visit again, particularly on a day other than a Monday so that w could visit museums.

We caught the free bus from the airport to the main rail station, crossed the road to our hotel and were in our room by …

We packed up rather quickly after that, and breakfasted on the almighty coco-pops. Om-nom-nom! We never buy this **** at home, but on a bike tour, we can ...

... then you would love this place.....Marg??? We thought of you! The rest of the day was spend wandering and sleeping. The boys arrived home, raving about their experience so it was worth the stopover for them. I'm sorry for all the car photos but I'm sure there are some people who might like them!! Dinner again at the Turkish place across the road. Early night and we head into Germany tomorrow.......past or maybe through the Black Forest. Will plot our course as we ...

... A lady in the town square was selling donuts so we bought some and it took so long to find a place to get lunch that by that time I had eaten 3 donuts!! Mon Dieu!! A Nanna nap (donut coma) was called for before we headed out for dinner. Our hotel caters for coach tours and so the restaurant at the hotel was full and very noisy so we opted for the Turkish restaurant across the road....for old times sake!!! Well it was fantastic and refreshingly cheap. ...
