... all walked around Basel. Not much going on in Basel without taking the tram, but it was a beautiful day for walking around with our newfound friends. ... spoilt for choice. We decided the best way to see the lake was to go up to the highest peak. After a very precarious steep and windy drive avoiding speeding Italians scraping the very edge of the road, we started our ascent up Monte Bolleto, enjoying incredible views of the lake on one side and plains on the other. The disadvantage was that the paths were overgrown with long grass which we powered our way through and Andrew was thankful for taking his hayfever ...
... and the mountains each side are gigantic ....there is one waterfall that is massive and three other small ones ...walk for a few hours and then back for shopping to have a light dinner in my room ...feast really and I can climb out my window and sit on the roof and take in the view ...rooms not that bad then. Dinner and knock off a bottle of red and watch homeland that I'm now addicted to. Go to sleep with the windows open to the sound of the waterfalls around me ...not bad at all ...
