One of our future places (Monemvasia) is owned by a guy that lives in Athens. ... they had a protest regarding Greece's finacial issues and how they are pretty much bankrupt and not able to or refusing to pay back the European countries that have tried to help them out. I wonder if it began when they hosted the Olympics but would be interesting to see what the future holds for Greece as a nation. Greece reminds me of Turkey really with Mousakka and Baklava and other foods but also their stories but I loved Turkey and I am loving Greece ...

... at the airport and flew back to Athens where we spent our last night. Our last meal was rooster cooked in a tomato sauce. I’m not sure who was more surprised, me, that they served rooster or the server, who couldn’t believe that I had never eaten it. It was very good and tender, just like a chicken's thigh or leg that we are accustomed to eating.
