When we did venture out away from our lovely pedestal fan it was still sticking hot. We just managed the 2 minute walk to the market square, checked out the scooter boys and found an AIRCONDITIONED restaurant in which to eat. No contest when it came to choosing because no other place had aircon!

... about travelling and speed limits are generally 110 - 130 on the highways. Travelling the minor roads are quiet and people don't seem to be in much of a hurry if you are travelling the speed limit. Towns and cities are a little different though. Congested and impatient. ... da POLI indo mijar e foi um amigo junto. Chegando lá esse amigo (o Naná) aponta um cara mijando e diz "esse cara aí é francês". Papo vem, papo vai no banheiro... falei que ia fazer intercambio em Mons e ele disse que já tinha ouvido falar. Achei muito estranho, já que ninguem nunca tinha ouvido falar dessa cidadezinha. Foi então que o Pierre (o francês que eu tava falando) falou que estudava em Lille, uma cidade francesa ...

... acho da cultura aqui:
- comida é pra se comer, degustar, apreciar... é realmente uma mentalidade meio gorda a nossa de comer o quanto conseguir e sair de restaurantes parecendo que não vai conseguir comer por uns 3 dias (principalmente em rodízios);
- não que não tenha, mas é bem mais difícil ver gordos aqui;
- era 10 euros, uns 25 reais, o que aqui não é muito, e não justifica pratos enormes e que pode até invalidar o 1o argumento ...

Curiosidade sobre Mons: desde 2002 sendo a capital cultural da Valônia*, Mons foi eleita esse ano como capital Europeia da cultura em 2015. Ou seja, muito em breve ela ficará famosa no mundo inteiro... =) , bom, pelo menos na europa... ah... ou talvez só na Bélgica... bom, mas aqui a notícia ta bombando já!! =P
