... it was a beach day so after our usual breakfast of chocolate chip brioche with jam we made the trek back up the sand dune and over the other side to the beach. We had a nice relaxing day and Jim even took his inflatable kayak that I had got him for his birthday and had fun playing around in the water. ... The temperatures in Bordeaux were around 30 to 32 degrees for the next week but out on the coast its going to be 26 to 28 degrees with the sea breezes. We had a nice opening ride today. about 110kms of flat country. While it was nice to cycle on the flat, it was a bit boring. A lot of it could have been in eastern Ontario with fields of corn and soy. We did see mounded crops which I thought were asparagus, but apparently are some sort of fruit, the name of which I did not recognize. You will see pictures of ...

I feel like this trip got started on the right foot while I was driving up Bank St after dropping of Fannie at the dog boarder and heading downtown to pick up Caroline when I found myself stopped at a red light right in front of Meat In The Middle. I'd heard a lot of good tihngs about this sandwich shop so I pulled over and popped in for one of their smoked meat sandwiches and some coleslaw. Was not disappointed.
