Today we drove from Abetone to San Remo via Portofino and St Maxime. Started in the Tuscan Hills, ended on the Italian Riviera! Beautiful drive through the windy roads and little villages and then suddenly we could see the Mediterranean! Sparkly and blue and very inviting! The freeway was amazing, tunnels through mountains, awesome bridges and glimpses of sea! First stop was Portofino. It's a beautiful sea side town near ...

Got home yesterday and decided to have a nice meal out for our last night in Venasque. Went to the Fountaine restaurant. Had a lovely meal, Simon had scallops for entree and a seafood concoction for main. I had lamb with foie gras and aubergine and some other bits and pieces I was unable to distinguish. Dessert, Simon had a tart with fig and apricot and I had a chocolate mousse...again, but he had done it with red capsicum and raspberries...was nice anyway. Got a ...

The day for any competitor or support crew of an Ironman race always begins very early. We woke around 4.00am to get organised and down to transition which closed at 6.00am

With close to 2,500 competitors competing in the Ironman (and probably quadruple the amount of family & friends supporting them), transition was a little crazy! Trying to track Scott in and out of transition to the swim start was a little like trying to spot a needle in ...
