After a fairly steep climb up to the top, the view of the region lies beneath, with the village set out in the shape of a teardrop, confined by the bends of the snaking river and the fortress rise.

As I am here to learn French, it's important to reflect on this aspect of my trip. In general, I am proud of my listening comprehension. I have never been an auditory learner, so this is actually quite surprising. When my classmates speak I understand them because they speak slowly, however, sometimes it is difficult to determine what they say because they are speaking with a Spanish or Dutch accent.
