... we found the place.

This was our second AirBnB place and it drove home the idea of never trust the pictures. The photos always make the places look much nicer and bigger than they really are. The room was a lot smaller and a bit mustier (think cellar) than we anticipated. Well, it was only for one night and we would only be here to ...

... Our next stop was Matera, probably one of the world's oldest towns, continuously inhabited for over 7000 years, so it has a very rich history. In the evening we went into Sassi, the old part of Matera, where the view of the houses built into the rocks was stunning. I only bought a pair of socks! Oh, and then a gelati. The other main attraction here is the Castello, or castle, which has layers of history still being discovered. It was ...

... by itself. Has told me if I want packed lunches to take on tours he will organise food for me. Feeling very "special" these days!

Docked at Bari in Italy today. Lots of fisherman on the wharf set up in stalls selling their fresh fish. Quiet around town being a Sunday. Back on ship now and Merv is watching rugby in the sports bar.

Looking forward to going to Katakolon ...
