... is that down south in Italy is very different from the well known areas of Tuscany, Lakes, Dolomites etc. Will see what Sicily brings. 6.11.12 Alberobello to Crotone. Well after our P & O version a couple years ago this was bigger and better. Kids latched onto a family of kiwis and are pumped as bro. So we have hardly seen them since we got on board. ... in shape and another gorgeous white town. Once again voted in as a pretty village. Apparently every year it is compulsory to white wash all the buildings and so it really looked clean, white and very pretty. Instead of 'trullis' it has 'truddhis' with tops which have peaked gabled rooves instead and do seem bigger. ... wonder it is to actually view. Apparently from the Neolith age until today (around 7000 years) human activity has been taking place in Matera. Whilst walking around we saw the churches – main one actually carved into the rock with a crucifix at the top.
