... forest. A sign told us that some of the trees were up to 600 years old. Up and over another saddle and we were heading back down towards the campsite. It was a tough walk and we decided that tomorrow’s walk would only have one steep ascent rather than two. We estimated that we had climbed approximately 1300 metres in total over the day.

The trip to Tivoli rounded off a fantastic 10 days in Italy. What a great holiday it's ...

... out at the back of the border are statuesque hydrangeas and clothing the wall behind a glorious wisteria . On the other side of the wide pathway is a clipped grey foliage hedge. It is a sight to behold, even though the roses were not quite at their best. Another week of this weather will see a cloud of pink blooms nestling under the grey/ green olive. The old fashioned Rose garden runs gently down the valley and was at its fragrant and stunning best and ...

... for me, this would be the one bus ride this semester where I get car sick. I was already not feeling super well, and then as I was standing on the bus I started feeling gradually worse and worse. I almost got off at a stop that was definitely not mine; I thought I was going to be sick. One of my friends gave me her seat where I got some air flow and handed me a plastic bag. The Italians around us looked super wary. It was not meant to be that on this journey I would join the club ...
