... that was the only source of light. First when we came in there were wooden boards for plates with knifes and HUGE napkins.The guy came in and told us we had to use our fingers and we could use the knife for the bread. And you could wipe your fingers if they were dirty on the other persons hair. I know this sounds crazy but it is true.Catherine, mommy's friend, was with us. The swim meet was a fun swim meet. ... aisle - you have about a 10 box selection; - the packaged soup aisle - Knorr is making a killing here - there are packaged base mixtures for just about everything; - yogurt/ buttermilk /cheese - yes, as you would expect they love their dairy products. BUT, the biggest milk "jug" is a 1L carton, so you can imagine how many trips we take to the store just for milk. Those 4L jugs are no where to be found (even 2L), may be because they wouldn't fit in the small fridge; - checkout person ...

We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas. We spent time wandering the streets and spending some tourist euros. We also found a good bakery/cafe and indulged ...

... a goat, it was quite small and it hurt one of its legs so it couldn't walk on it and was limping. We named him drie because he was only walking on 3 legs. Drie means 3. We took a little walk up the mountain and then we had a really nice view of another valley. We went out for dinner that night, and we had schniztel and I had goulash soup with a dumpling.
