Verona, Veneto, Italy frdrick... enjoying life. I took the loop I've taken a ton of times on the bike now (yes, I am riding bikes, I know, crazy) which leads through a small town near Dello. As I was walking along the sidewalk, along the main road, I passed many homes that had huge scary dogs barking at me. I thought "wow, am I glad they are locked behind those fences" when a loose dog passed me. He ran past me though, so instead of being frightened of him I thought "wow, I hope he doesn ...
Dello, Lombardy, Italy alliemarie... porridge with mushrooms and mozzarella which was sooo yumm, and then tripe and polenta which was also good.
They like their polenta here...
Checked out Juliette's House as it was included in the Verona card we got, but it was pretty **** and not worth paying for separately. She never even lived there...
Verona is a nice little town, but 1 day was plenty enough and time to move on to Milan
......... So apparently the title is a quote from Romeo and Juliet...... You learn something new every day!
So we only stopped here for a couple of hours as a rest stop but it was pretty cool.
Verona is a very pretty town that is famous for Juliet Capulet's balcony and the entrance to the balcony is where all the lovey dovey couples write ...
... well. Well, untill he tried to order vinegar in the fruit market instead of Dill (he had just learned / memorized the work for Dill (aneto) but under the pressure, it came out as vinegar (aceto). Otherwise, am very impressed with his language skills. A few more days and he could totally pass as a native, especially with shorts and sandles like he wore today in late october.
So now we are in ...
... as we had had enough of Venice and decided that we would rather be in Verona.
Even on a Monday night, there were lots of people out and about enjoying the restaurants – we notice that while we are having dinner, most people in Europe are having drinks or coffee and they eat later. We also have a theory that TV in Europe is pretty lame (American shows from years ago) because everyone is out, rather than home watching it.
... in a small courtyard which is free to get into and there is a statue of Juliette and everyone was trying to get a photo with her- her boobs are shiny from people rubbing them. The tunnel to the courtyard is covered with love notes. As we were leaving, I couldn’t see Greg, so I said “Romeo, Romeo, where art thou Romeo” and the girls didn’t think that was funny!
We got out of the madness and went back to the hotel for a siesta before dinner.
... wouldn’t see on a Saturday night in Sydney. There were market stalls in one of the piazzas and I found someone selling chestnuts so I was happy- I hadn’t seen any in Innsbruck and they didn’t seem to be too common in Verona. As we were looking for somewhere to eat, we noticed that all of the restaurants had similar menus, and go figure, it was all Italian food. We hardly saw restaurants for any other type of food.
Verona, Veneto, Italy kiama_on_tour... ants nest. not the best pitch we have ever had. We spend the first day lounging by the lake, this part of the lake is dirty and nothing like the romantic picturesque images we were looking forward to. nevertheless it was relaxing the food was good and the beer was cold.
what more could I ask for?
a pitch in the shade away from the ants and the children, too much to ask?

< br>Iseo seemed a pleasant enough little town in the morning, though the daylight didn’t help my spatial awareness much. Driving from the Bed and Breakfast we had stayed at back to Gerry’s, a parked truck took up most of the space in one of the town’s narrow laneways. Thinking I had comfortably enough space to get by it, it came as a rude shock to hear a loud scraping ...
