First of all I want to acknowledge that IT IS SARAH'S BIRTHDAY MONTH! Beautiful sunny day in Delphi. We are off for a full morning tour of Ancient Delphi and it's museum. The guide told us all the tales of the importance of Delphi and how The Oracle under the temple was really a woman who was sniffing ether from an underground fault. The priest would then interpret her mumblings to solve peoples worries. The site was very pretty with a market, reconstructed treasury, temple and ...

... it had a thriving textile industry, a few dozen of the 600 mansions remain around it's cobbled streets. We will visit the village tomorrow, we drive a little further up the winding road to a view point, wow what a view it is. A lovely spot to stay the night. A local lady stopped as she walked by to chat to us, she was very friendly and enquirer if we needed anything. It wasn't long before the sun set, the sky looked quite impressive with big streaks of yellow and orange across ...

I'd prefer the queen sized bed obviously but she's little, she can cosy up. She never did come to see me though. ...

Meteora - Monastery Varlaam

Today we visited two monasteries in Meteora. This area used to be a fertile river area, but the river wore down the land into sedimentary rock formations that are hundreds of feet high. Perched atop these massive rocks are four monasteries and two nunneries. When the monasteries were first formed within the caves of the cliffs, there were 23 altogether, but the landscape and the demographics shifted to where there are six places of worship and fewer than 100 residents.

... super excited making revenue of 1.50!!

The beauty of this place has to be seen. Words are difficult to describe it or at least in my words. The rock formations are amazing and I can't wait to visit the monasteries on top of the cliffs. Our hotel is very nice. Nothing flash but the service is impeccable. I understand why it gets great reviews. The lady at the front desk, Apostolia, helped us in every way and also suggested ...
