Geneva, Switzerland

My husband and I arrived in Geneva on a Sunday evening, after an 8 hour train ride from Venice. We took a taxi to our hotel, the Epsom Manotel. The hotel was nicer than the ones we stayed at in Italy, and they gave us a complimentary 3 day public transportation pass. After checking in, we headed out to Rue de Lausanne to find dinner. We ended up at a Vietnamese restaurant, which is one of our favorite cuisines. It was very good, and after that we went back to the hotel. On Monday, we headed o...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Hotel Epsom Manotel Geneva

Faultless!

from MikeCratchley
I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. From the moment we stepped through the door to be greeted by the Epsom's incredibly professional staff, we experienced truly excellent service during our two day stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom, if a little small, was superbly fitted out with high quality contemporary accessories.

The food in the Portobello restaurant was superb and was served by a waiter who really knew his way around the excellent value-for-money wine list.

In terms of comfort, quality, service and value, this is the best hotel I have stayed in for a very long time. It's just a pity that it's located in one of the world's most uninspiring cities!

Come on Manotel - open up in the UK!

Excellent Hotel

from Chief01
I stayed at the Hotel Epsom Manotel for 4 nights in Jan. 06. This was a weekend stop over on a two week business trip. I chose this hotel based on the reviews on this web site. I would recommend this hotel for the business or vacation traveler. The hotel is in close walking distance to good restaurants, the lake front, and train station. I have stayed in the Hotel Metropole on a previous visit to Geneva and would recommend the Hotel Epsom hands down over the Metropole.

Book this hotel ASAP!!

I booked this hotel soley based on the good reviews I read on this website. I was not disappointed. This was the best hotel experience I ever had - no exaggeration.

The Epsom Manotel was impeccable and the service was amazing. My friend and I had arrived to the hotel very late in the morning after an exhausting train ride from Paris. Hungry and tired we inquired at reception if the kitchen was still open. He responded that it was not. However, he kindly made us sandwiches HIMSELF and brought them up to our room. We were floored by this hospitality.

The room itself was very clean and well-organized. We had a double room which had 2 twin beds with a spotless bathroom and small kitchenette (stove + sink + dinnerware + cookware). The kitchenette is not open, but hidden in a closet. Nice touch. We also had a lake view which gave us beautiful views of the mountains.

We stayed at this hotel during New Years 2006. We asked the receptionist to help us find dinner reservations at a restaurant on New Years Eve. She had called over 15 restaurants just to find us a spot! It was at a restaurant called La Broche. The meal was amazing and we had a great time! Once again, kudos to the hotel staff.

In addition, we ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant on one night. The food was great! We had a delicious 4 course french meal. I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a very nice, modern, and comfortable hotel with amazing service, look no further. We are so glad that we booked the Epsom Manotel. It was an incredible hotel experience. You will not be disappointed.

This was an excellent hotel! The location, service, staff, bed, bathroom, and especially the breakfast was fabulous! This was our favorite hotel from our European vacation. We wished we could have stayed another night. Geneva was very pretty, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We spent a lot of time in old downtown shopping, eating & visiting old churches and buildings. There are tons of restuarants, cafes and shopping of all kinds. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for the price. You can't get a nice cheap hotel in Geneva. I can't say enough nice things about our hotel & our visit to Geneva!

Good business hotel

Stayed at the Hotel Epsom for two days on business in Geneva

This is a modern hotel and has been nicely finished - the rooms and communal areas are all well above average I have prevopusly stayed at the Warwick and this is far superior but cheaper - partly reflecting its position which is a ten minute walk from the station.

Breakfast was adequate rather than special but the restaraunt in the evening is very good. The hotel gives you a free starter or dessert and it was worth eating in even without that offer.

This is part of a group of hotels in Geneva, all of which have received good reviews, and I will be returning. A good hotel in Geneva without being ripped off - now that's something different!

Excellent!

Hotel was perfect for business travelers (would be great for leisure travelers as well!) Good location, excellent staff/communication. Rooms are very nice, as are hotel amenities. I plan to stay here again on a return visit!

Great for business travelers

I have stayed at the Epsom twice on business and have been quite satisfied. The rooms are small by American standards, but you're in Geneva. They keep the roooms clean and stocked with plenty of towels. The bathrooms are very nice with modern fixtures. The small bar is perfect for an apres-work drink or two. There is a small gym with a treadmill, bike, and some weights (and they don't charge you to use it). The irons and ironing boards are located in one room on every (maybe every other) floor so you don't have to hassle the front desk to get an iron. They have a great breakfast buffet included in the room price (sausage, bacon, eggs, cereal, fruit, cold cuts, etc). The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is located near Lake Geneva, perfect for a morning run. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. I would recommend it.

Stayed in the Epsom twice. Nice modern atmosphere. Personnel is very helpful. Rooms are good with all the amenities. Quiet too! Breakfast very good. Lounge is huge with nice couches. I hope I have time next time to try out the fitness room!

Nice stay

I stayed at the Epsom for 2 weeks in September 04 and I enjoyed the stay. I understand it recently underwent a large renovation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and everything was in good operating order and it had A/C. My room had a "king" size bed but it was really a bed with 2 twin mattresses pushed together though. The room is modest in size and I found that the armoire's size was not quite enough for my 2 weeks of clothing. The Epsom has a small workout room with a few treadmills, bicycles, and weights. The best part of the Epsom is the full breakfast which is included in the rate. They have eggs, bacon, toast, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. This benny saved me alot of time in the morning and $$. The Epsom has a business office with 2 PCs that had internet access but the internet only worked once while I was there.

The Epsom has a small but comfy bar and the drinks were reasonably priced and they had BOGO happy hr specials. Another nice thing about the Epsom is that it is about a 5 minute walk from lake Geneva and the shopping/restaurant areas. It's about a 15 minute walk to the UN bldgs. I would probably stay here again because of the location, nice staff and free breakfast.
