As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

... the town we're staying in and it was a really beautiful place with lots of neat looking rock and tons of clear running water. It was a pretty hike that took an hour or two and there was a waterfall at the end of it. We took lots of pictures there!

It is imperative to keep our fitness up whilst travelling so we hire mountain bikes that have been used in the Dacha rally then had addition of seats made to slice you in half. Lovely, we cycle and whinge our way around the lake being taken over by Great Grandparents in Lykra. Today we went to the world heritage site Dachstein Salzkammergut. It was really interesting but also disappointing. The day started again gloomy and very wet, we did not start on our adventure until eleven. But we did see the runners involved in the half day Martin run pass our hotel.
