... Col de Port (1249m) – although fairly long, it never gets really steep. The descent is steeper in places, and took us almost all the way to Tarascon-sur-Ariège, famous for its prehistoric cave paintings. Had a fab day out at a prehistoric park for the he kids. It had a lovely audio display talking about the history of the place. There are caves in the region that are 30,000 years old. Magdalenes lived in the area and used to hunt dear and bison. The kids enjoyed learing and then they did some cave painting and learnt how to make fire. That night we had a nice catch up with Liz and Russ and had a for wines. A late night. But a new day of driving was ahead of us!! ...
