With a motorbike that I got from a gym instructor I made my way up to the remote village Kampung Naga. The way led along a curvy street by a river, surrounded by steep rice field terraces, banana and palm trees.. I guess some of the most beautiful landscape I ever saw! It's hard to believe that I did not see a single tourist on that entire day.
My goal, the village Kampung Naga, is inhabited by Sundanese people who still live in a very traditional way, without ...

We spent a while soaking our feet in the crater pools (some were unbearably ...

Halef's sister, Leona, took us to a sort of market this morning. They had not eaten breakfast yet, so they wanted to go get a couple things. At one food stall, they picked up a dish called kupat tahu. At another, they picked up a traditional Bandung food called bandros. It's basically a type of waffle with cheese, ...

Sunday was a leisurely day of watching UFC with the guys from the bar in the morning (time difference) and then off to Paris Von Java with Cass for a pancake breakfast and seeing Total Recall- which, as it happens, was a pretty awesome movie.

So far Indonesia has been an absolute onslaught of new experiences- some good and some great and some kind of ******. But (and I realize as an English teacher I ...
