... we’ll get to what it feels like in the Tour de France.

The plan was to take it easy today, keep the heart rate and power down and not get carried away with excitement of the race. We’re going to need to do that for at least a couple of more days so that we have energy to get us through the week. If we overdo it now, we’ll pay later. The plan worked. Dave, Terry, Paul and I rode together ...

... Andorra La Vella. An amazing sensation - a large city crowded in on all sides by steep mountain sides, in an alpine gorge less than a kilometre wide. No hope of stopping and parking ( we had been forewarned by friend Miles) so we drove through. Then we decided to head for the hills and look for camp spot. Good sleep tonight, unlike last night, where the town hoons did a tour of the car park at 2 ...

... roadside scenery was great, but there is nothing more entertaining than eavesdropping on your children during a mind-numbing 4 hr drive. While Che lay in Anya's lap acting like some strange animal that Anya was simultaneously grooming and wrestling (all battles take place in seat belts mind you) we heard, Che: "Ooch" Anya: "Sorry, I was just being a dentist". And later, "Can I braid your eyebrows?" No! WTF!? Who said that!? "Aren't you guys glad we're not Siamese ...

... historic churches, shrines and basilica. It was full of pilgrims on the Camino, tourist buses and day trippers from Barcelona enjoying the various mountain hikes, religious artefacts and the market stalls selling fresh cheese, fig and quince paste and cava. What a delightfully unexpected surprise! Without any hiking gear we decided to enjoy the village the best way we could- a cheese, fig paste and cava picnic on the lawn overlooking the views. Sure bet the lunch views ...
