      Woke this morning to heavy grey cloud. Looks like our fantastic run with fine weather may be coming to an end....... We are visiting two close islands today so decide to get a day ticket on the Vaporetto. We need to walk down to the local Tabbacchi store to buy this and then back past the hotel to the Vaporetto station. The Vaporetto takes us a couple of stops along the island and then heads out across the lagoon. First stop is the island used as a cemetery..... And ...

      ... hours and we can take as many bus's and water buses as we want. Yesterday we went into town for a few hours just to see what it was all about - we barely scratched the surface. We had lots of snacks and a bottle of wine and just toured around. Today we were up early and on the bus by 8 am into town.       ... so I pushed my way in front of them, only to have him standing behind us chewing and making this internal spitting noise with his tongue - I wanted to turn around and slap him. Thought against it. Then a Gernan woman (large) tried to weasel her way in after just about knocking Mac out with her handbag so I just blatantly pushed in front of them.       ... to paste, then cold pressed (huge wooden press which was turned by hand - hard work). This was how it was done 200 years ago until recently where it has modernised now. We the partook in fresh salad, gathered from their garden, prosciutto, cheese, home made bread, olive oil (of course) and their own wine (this was 10.30 in the morning!).
