... people so close as it would be too loud. Well, they did and it was! Lunch on the waterfront (there is lots to choose from!), in the sun watching the world go by, in boats. Made use of the day pass for the water buses in the afternoon and sailed most of the canals. The gondoliers still wear the stripy shirts and black trousers, but not one of them was singing. ... landmarks here and decided to make a trip to Lido, about 20 minutes on the water bus. We were pleasantly surprised by a beautiful beach here, yes! a beach in Venice,Not too many tourists think of going to the beach here. It was not very crowded. The beach itself was very clean and the water was a beautiful bluish-green. ... to Bologna, where we were to change trains, there were no seats and only options of going up or down stairs - now my luggage is getting heavier by the day, so I stood in the doorway for the whole trip. Sigh.... ah well, I survived.
