... to the tailors we headed off to the Colosseum. After a short walk and a quick snack for lunch we were there. It was so unbelievable and huge, just like the pictures. It was so incredible to actually be standing next to it!!! We also saw the Roman forum when we were there as well. We then headed off to ST Peters basilico, the Vatican. We caught a metro there and began to walk. When walking we came across these hundreds of thousands of scouts. ...

RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!! We got to Venice and checked the weather. It was forecasted to be thunderstorms and lightening all day, but I optimistically assumed that it couldn't be as bad as the weather channel said. Surprise, it actually down poured the entire day! So much so that the streets were flooding with some canal water mixed with rain and the drains were so backed up that they were actually spurting water back up into the pond size puddles that formed around them. After about ...

... is super expensive! One cafe in St Marks Square asked for a €6 contribution to the music, on top of a service charge and tax... I ate elsewhere! But even the water buses are pricey, I've spent €28 on two return trips to the island and a gondola would have set me back 100!

On the subject of food I did three things which I'd been looking forward to... 1. Real Italian coffee, 2. Gelato & 3. A Spritzi - A Venetian drink my Dad raved ...
