... here in Croatia is like a weird social experiment--locking up 40 college students in a hotel in Croatia... yesterday we finally left the resort complex and went into the town of Pula. It's a 40 minute walk or a 15 minute bus ride. I walked there and bussed back. It was a cool town, but kind of annoying to get to. It reminds me of Algeria. There's quite a few roman ruins around, which is really neat. And the main part of the ...

In Münsterplatz we rode the big wheel and got a nice view of the city lights reflecting on the Rhine. After our ride we just hung around a stall selling gluwein, drinking and chatting. Everywhere we went was crowded with people in good spirits and children full of sugar and excitement. Herbstmesse is a fun time in Basel!
We got back in Basel late yesterday afternoon. We had lots of time to sort out our luggage and for mom and dad to repack for their journey today. Today it was time to say good-bye. They are driving back to Paris and flying home midday tomorrow. I had parked their rental car in an underground garage right by my apartment. We all walked down to the garage together, Lincoln included, with their assortment of suitcases and carry-ons. Once we managed to squeeze everything in ...
Basel, Basel, Switzerland travelingdiva... me, why waste precious time and money travelling to your accommodation? Luckily I am covered by the all important Swiss Flexi Pass. Reception was open from 4pm (whaaaaa?) and I arrived at 1pm. I left my luggage in the storage lockers but spent all afternoon worried that my laptop, Ipod and cash would get stolen as my tiny padlock could have easily fit through the locker. I also left my camera in my locker. Doh. This was a major ...
Lucerne, Switzerland emmabOlten is a small town in the middle of Switzerland, apparently all the trains in teh country pass through there everyday. We met Marion's freind Annette at the train station and continued to her home. Very simple but very modern. The girls spent the afternoon catching up (mostly in French, so I missed most of it) and we had dinner with Annette's parents. They were such ...
Olten, Solothurn, Switzerland jimbojohnsonWell after Paris we made our way through the vineyards of Burgundy, past Dijon towards the towering Alps of Lucerne, Switzerland. The weather was not too nice for us here, but we tried to make the most of it. After settling in to our hotel we had dinner an head into town for a beverage or two with a few of the tour group, it was a late but great night. The next morning we ...

After the event I had a late dinner with a friend and I returned home. The next morning, it was up and out to school. At yesterday evening's event, I received a lead for a local recruiter. I called her and we are meeting on Monday to discuss different opportunities : ). I received a ...

I did meet up with a fellow that I met in Gimmelwald for a few pints and a show of the local pubs (Eric is an American living in Switzerland). It was nice to have someone tour me around who could speak the language :)
Lucerne, Switzerland naomiwyman... down and then they rebuilt it. There was also a wall with towers which you could climb and run around in. We did this. We found a Swiss army shop and bought gifts for our mum's. This was the German side of Switzerland. It was nice, but the as we got to the border of Swiss Deutsche and Swiss French, a whole new world was opening up to us. The languages were merging, forming a language which was hard to understand. We were entering a new part. It was exciting
