... At Ancona we disembarked from the station and checked our luggage into the "left luggage" service. Time to explore the town as it was still only 2:00pm and the tickets didn't need to be checked in until 5:00.

Gav started walking in the direction of what we thought was the town - actually the McDonalds sign pointer was the main direction we were taking. After walking for sometime in the heat...it became apparent we were nowhere near the city or McDonalds??? ...

We caught a ferry with our car from Split to Ancona, at 8pm. The ferry took 10.5hours. We had our own cabins with beds and a shower. There were restaurants and cafes on the ferry and we watched the World Cup. We arrived in Ancona, a city in Central Italy at 7.30am.
