... police were just taking the biscuit. We parked the car and literally ran to the first bar we saw which turned out to be a Mexican cabaret bar, hilarious and certainly cheered us up! There's literally bars all along the front but they are pretty much all the same, cheap food, beers and sand. We ended up staying in a place called hotel Olimar which was about 10 minute drive from the main avenue. Looked decent enough and was super cheap for Acapulco. We basically ...
... off the tourist map. It's still got a pretty bad rap for violence, but we'd also heard if you stay in the touristy spots it's safe as pie and we had some time before we flew out of Mexico so we decided we would give it a whirl! Acapulco is about 5 hours by bus from Mexico City. The bus journeys are definitely starting to wear us down, we worked out we've spent over 700 hours on buses this year so we'll be happy once we ...

There wasn't really anything to keep me interested, and I was looking forward to the laid-back style of Puerto Escondido.

Today we spent the day sailing down the coast of Mexico. From our map, we are off the coast of Acapulco. No port stops today as we are heading to Guatamala, which takes two nights and two days sailing to arrive. The waters are very calm and the sailing very smooth. We are both very relaxed and Johnny is enjoying the variety of foods on board.
