... on the train and set off to race it round the hill again. My route up the Lauberhorn chair and then down the Wixi run and valley blue was the same as yesterday. As I approached Wengen Alp station, the first stop of the route, I saw the trains waiting. I passed them at the station and saw Ruth and JJ waving as I had to pole along one of the flatter bits of the run.
I soon sped up and managed to beat the train into the station by a few minutes and joined Ruth ...

We arrived at the cable car and paid $25 to take ourselves and our bikes up. This was stunning. It took 10 minutes to get up and it was interesting as Dayna is usually a thrill seeker. This time I loved it but she sat frozen on a chair. She kept saying we are up so high so I reassured and told her to look up instead of down.

... The verdict was a suspected broken collar bone and the first aider booked a taxi to meet us at the train in Wengen to take us to the clinic.
The journey seemed to take ages but we reached the clinic where JJ was x-rayed and it was confirmed that he had made a clean break of his collar bone. He was prescribed pain killers and given a shoulder brace and arm sling and told to keep off skiing for the next four to six weeks. ...

... enough coins to pay for it - yes, the Swiss make you pay for your showers even though it's one of the water-rich countries in the world - so was forced to finish washing my hair in the sink. For dinner that night, the Topdeck on-site chefs served us chicken in white wine and mushroom sauce with vegetables and apple strudel for dessert.
