... The roads were bone dry other than a few streams of water crossing them in the shaded areas etc so what all can go wrong.

Soon I find myself parked up together with loads of other cars belonging to tourists who had also planned to take this route. There is a barrier across the road and all of us are congregating on top of a very large dam wall. Most of us as can be expected are rather annoyed that we have driven all this way only to come to a total dead end on both roads. ...

This was a day to remember. A highlight FOR SURE, and……while under one of Muggestutz's pine trees waaaaay up in the alps, he sent me a message that he intends to come and visit his cousins in the Rocky Mountains sometime soon….

Having breakfast in the hotel and checking out. I got the tram that stopped right outside the hotel to the airport. Checking in and dropping the bags, I spend two hours wondering the airport. Saturday morning we didn't want to leave our beautiful hotel and its incredible location but we were awake and eating breakfast by 645am ready to depart by 730am. The plan was to drive through the third longest tunnel, the Gothard tunnel which is 17km long. However, the traffic was at a stand still so Willem took us on the scenic route up the side of the Alps.
