One of the most popular pictures of Greece is from the island of Santorini. You know it - the village/town with all of the whitewashed buildings with blue roofs. In fact, it is so popular, many people think that all of Greece looks like this and several people are disappointed with the reality. Having said that, I was excited to see Santorini and see the iconic view.

This morning, we took a bus ...

The first one wouldn't accept the debit card, the second one was out of order. #3 worked, but you have to pay attention or you might accidentally withdraw in dollars, getting screwed on the exchange rate (5% conversion "fee" (not sure what they call it) ouch). Joan tends to walk faster than most people. Today, for the most part, she couldn't.

    ... pickup point.

Oia is perched on the northern tip of Santorini and is known for its picturesque architecture, cobblest9one lanes, whitewashed buildings and blue domed churches which really did look quite spectacular. As was expected, there were souvenir shops every way you turned. Fira is the islands capital and is also perched on top of the mountain.

Vicki and I had some lunch in Oia at a lovely little ...
