This morning we set off for a little beach just outside Chania for a few hours of relaxation before a late lunch at Johnny's aunt's house. We got up at a leisurely pace again this morning and set off back towards Chania driving west along the northern coast. We stopped at Rethymno which has an old Venetian section and port a lot like Chania. We at lunch facing the old harbor, but were all a little disappointed at the meal. ... didn't work out. The ferry took us past a couple of the stopping off at a beautiful one in a crescent shaped bay with all the white washed buildings lining the beach. We got off at the second village stop where we boarded a bus back to Chania. But to get back into the mountains and off the coast we went through more switchbacks. The time difference has helped me fit right into Cretan/Greek life.
