    ... view of the Elbe River. It appears to be a shallow river as it has wide banks on both sides. There are a number of flat bottomed cruise boats moored. An old bridge connects the old town to the new town and adjacent areas. We then had the task of selecting a restaurant for dinner. The bride chose a traditional German restaurant where we both enjoyed a hearty meal. Ice cream to wash it down and then back to the apartment by 9:00pm.     ... just after the opening time of 9am. Quite a number of coaches were already unloading their passengers as we arrived but fortunately we were right behind an english speaking group off the Viking riverboat Clara Schumann (going from Prague to Berlin) so we were tacked onto this group for the workshop tour at 9:15.     Significant drop in the temperature today So out come the warm clothes. Warming up with large round mugs of hot chocolate sitting on the Verandah at the Panorama, our Pension in Rathen. Planning to have smoked trout at the smoke house on the river before catching our steamer boat that will take us to Dresden. Wow smoked trout was fabulous!

I didn't know when we were going to start working on the garden and bushes like Tim said we would yesterday, so I kept myself awake (as I have said before, I'm not a big fan of falling asleep in front of others, or being asleep when others are awake, or coming into my room, or...) by listening to music.
