... can describe what you see, when driving. The towns, the villages perched on the mountain side, the streams running along side the road side. The old house and church here and there, it was unbelievable. To feel free and be away in clean air is wonderful.

Up and over the mountain pass we went. We stuck to the road so as to avoid getting lost or too bogged down in the thawing environment. Which served us well for some time. We found a bench to stop at for our lunch and began to notice that the automobile traffic was increasing on the road, both in speed and volume.

... then Steven would translate for me. Eventually her friends came in and when her meal was set in front of her she walked over and plopped some of it on each of our plates so that we could try it. Her name is Nanou and she was a hoot. The owner told me later that she comes in every Sunday and sits in "her" booth---the table in the front window where she can see who comes and goes --- she made our meal very memorable.
