The ride from Villa Gesell was quite pleasant with just a few nerve tingling moments on the Beemer working our way through the large city of Mar Del Plata. Joolsie unfortunately lost her rubber backrest as we hit an unexpected bump. We managed to replace it later with a nice beach mat, now strapped to the top box and working well.
The countryside is very expansive, with lots of fields of various cereal crops growing and some very large cultivating and ...
... from the house in town to a bedroom in the home where we stayed for the rest of our visit. One thing that we were very grateful of was the opportunity to talk with people who were willing to spend time trying to work out what on earth we were trying to say. At this point charades should be a doddle! We taught a few of the boys card games, half of the fun of which was trying to explain the rules, and they absolutely loved the 1-100 dice game - we are now official exporters ...
Benito Juárez, Buenos Aires, Argentina mikeandgem... road for the next 3000 kms. The first section does not have much of interest and, because it was so late, we only drove 150 kms and stopped at a Petrobras service station for the night.
22nd – It is cloudy and damp today and so we have decided to stay parked where we are.
... More īmeat and cheese lockerī than restaurant, Epoca served up a selection of Tandil's best cured meat and cheese and little else (not that anything more is needed). Once settled all there is to do is sit back next to the fire and savor the wonderful food. Epoca is a must for any traveler heading to Tandil - a truly unique experience.
The following day we began with a self guided tour of the city, taking in the many plazas and grand European styled ...
... head sticking out of one wall and a drain in the floor (not that uncommon actually). And in the back are some tables and trees that shade some nice campsites. But what makes this place is the graffiti. On every wall there are inscriptions from global travelers from every imaginable country, an all kinds of bikes, and on all kinds of trips. But a lot of these guys and girls are hardcore, not like me: traveling ...
Azul, Patagonia, Argentina bocaleeOn recommendation I went to this small town which is not on the tourist map. Its about 350 kms south of Buenos Aires. The countryside remedied me of East of England in the sense it was very flat and apart from the cattle that were evident everywhere there were wheat fields. This small town is famous for its cheeses and I went to the oldest shop in the town ...

Tandil, Argentina sf2paris... stuff around. (hillside erosion, loss of natural habitat, pollution, etc) So the professors at this University told us that the government has laws against the mining practices here, but no one enforces them. We were told that the only punishment is a fine that the quarry owners pay without flinching, and then proceed to continue without skipping a beat. However, this one professor then proceeded to tell us that "All Argentine social problems are caused by ...
Tandil, Argentina ingviaje... was some kind of class field trip there while we were there. It showed the culture differences between our countries. These kids were so keen to be learning about and eating cheese. They were excitedly lining up to buy their favourite cheese and showing off to each other their purchases. Kids in Canada or Wales would likely have been whining after an hour in a ...
Tandil, Central Argentina, Argentina harrisonhines... the night. Unfortunately, it was a to be a different story. Our huge double-decker decided to have a "slight" delay when it blew it's tire in the middle of nowhere. Not a great start, but at least it was an interesting operation to watch. Eventually we made it into town, but only to learn that we didn't actually have a hotel reservation. There was some "mix-up" and we were now heading to a ...
