... Unfortunately all we saw were trees. Apparently tours before and after us spotted toucans, monkeys and anteaters. As I mentioned earlier, all we saw were trees.

Granted we may have been able to see more if the guide that was on our gondola wasn't mute (apparently). Ted did manage to see some monkeys disappearing but unluckily, our visit to the rich coast was somewhat poor.

After the ride, we had a true Latin America feast (rice and beans ...

... br> We got back on the bus and headed out to the Philadelphia banana plantation. Ferdinand explained the process of how a banana plant produces bananas. It was very interesting. Unfortunately, the workers had gone home for the day, but Ferdinand did a good job explaining it.

Back on the bus, we started back to port to get back on our ship. It was a good excursion and we were so happy to have an excellent guide.

... it brought memories of when I was kid traveling in buses like that through the mountains of Colombia... The vegetation was just rich and we went up a hill and in that span alone we experienced rain, fog and changes in temperature. I began to see the changes in the vistas as we were getting close the the Caribbean Coast. We finally arrive to PV at about 5:00pm!.. so good thing we rushed and got the 12:00 bus, it was a long trip ...
