... really want to be staying so I was hoping the hotel wasn't in the middle of some sketchy area. It turned out fine. The hotel is on a pedestrian walkway that is part of a couple of walkways which form a major shopping area for the city.

The funny thing was that there was almost nobody there and all the stores were closed. I wondered if there had been some huge economic downturn ...

In Cordoba we stayed in the small and friendly Tango Hostel in the trendy Nueva Cordoba area. Due to an error with the booking we ended up being bumped up to a private room gratis. Not a bad start! High on the agenda was eating so we found a steakhouse recommended by the hostel called Beto's. It doesn´t look much from the outside, but it was full of locals which is always a good sign. We sat out on the street in the muggy air...a storm was coming so the heat ...
