Zell am See, Austria

It was a 3 hour drive from Ischgl to this year round resort set around beautiful Zeller See Lake - reminded us of Tahoe but with an Austrian Flair... cute little town set around the quintessential church; narrow winding streets with cafes, bars, and ski shops (Intersport); lots of little inns, hotels, pensions! Our hotel (Hotel Eichenhoff) was at the 'Top of the Town' which meant a 7-10 minute hike up the mountain but it was worth it since it had great views of the surroundings. When we arriv...

ich würd mal sagen: Jetz gehts los!!!!!!

Liebe Menschen,
Bis dahin: Keep on rockin´

Buy a vowel ... (Slovenia, Continued)

After a few days in Ljubljana, we took a bus to the beautiful, rustic town of Bled. Apart from being dropped off at the wrong bus station, walking for more than an hour with all of our gear in the pouring rain looking for our hostel, and not having anyone at the hostel for the first 6 hours we were there, Bled was incredible. Our second day in Bled, the sun appeared and ...

The Lake District

... was just as we pulled up outside of it. Croatia is an amazing country very beautiful and the people that we have met have been amazing but go we have to. Got our train tickets to Slovenia we are not staying in the capital Ljubljana as we think it might be a little too busy but we have to get the train there and then get another train to Bled which is a lake near the border of Austria.

We got to the train ...

Great food, deadly treadlies and a beautiful gorge

... ATM there.

We were walking briskly when the guy from this couple overtook us at a RUN! We had backpacks on! It was warm! And he was RUNNING! Amazing.

Anyway, we all got to the supermarket and there was no ATM, we went to a register and asked about cash out on Visa and unsurprisingly they said ‘no’ but they did give us directions to another ATM on ‘the other side of the train station about 100 metres’.

We all ran out (yes, even Witek and I ...

Lake Bled

... was all very picturesque. We found a great free camping spot right outside of the campground! Originally we were headed to the campground but saw a few campervans parked outside in the parking lot-we were still able to walk to the toilets and use them so we saved on a night's camping. After driving back up to the grocery store to find dinner for the night, we found that it had already shut. Next ...

Main Station

I have just come over the border into Austria, from Slovenia, in a train that I caught in Zagreb at 1.15 this afternoon. We have been stopped here for quite a while; been shunted out of the station and back in again. I'm not sure why. Now we're off for good, into the hills. This has been a very hilly journey so far, with steep forest slopes to look at out of the window, and mountain-scapes in the ...

Run out of town, literally, by 16 men in skirts!!

... didn't think I'd be forced out of town by over 4,000 Scotts while in Slovenia! Anyway, they were actually really cool guys. It was amusing on their part as well. Some of them came home so late, and in the dark, they didn't realize I was a part of thier room - so they were slightly embarassed when they woke up in their jockies and saw me. They tried to fight for space for me to stay, to ...
