    ... that can be recycled is taken out before hand. Sounds a much more environmentally friendly outcome than landfill to my lot. We came to ‘the Monument’. Built in the 1670’s as a memorial to the victims of ‘fire of London 1666’, we climbed to the top, around 340 steps on a spiral staircase.     ... Very uneven surface, difficult sleep ahead. Plan for tmrw is 5am start, get to Ulm and consider getting a cheap room and doin g errands before attackng the Danube the day after. See how i feel tmrw, legs will be stiff... What a day! Pretty much a 'classic' touring day, tough, but very rewarding and memorable.. PS - note from the next day, turns out that I actually crosssed the Swabian Alb, technically a low mountain range'... An accidental detour over a mountain range then!

    ... and finally the teacher! wanted her picture taken too! haha...it was quite the experience...i don't think i have ever been quite so dumbfounded. ha! we said goodbye to jeff and crew and made our way back to bangkok for one night. the next morning we caught a bus to kanchanaburi...a town 2 hours northwest of bangkok...to see the erawan waterfalls there. it was definitely worth the trip - so beautiful! there were 7 levels of the falls and a crystal clear ...

    So we picked up the stones and since the "construction elevator" was still there… we used it. So the pebbles went up via bucket, the stones came up and then the measuring and cutting started… but at the end of the day – we did it.

    Oh and do we want to know how much Paul learned: enough to go shopping, to the library and the pool – but not enough to talk a lot in German
