Horse and Carriage country-Romania

... river into Buda and Pest. We spend most of our time in Buda, visiting a beautiful church (thanks girl!), donating to the Hari Krishna and enjoying another (wrongly made) Café Latte. Pest doesn’t seem too appealing, but could be we did not see the best of it. Mira takes the opportunity to go to the hairdressers and we eat a typical Hungarian meal in a sleazy restaurant! Maybe it’s me, but this city does not appeal to me much, one day it needs a (longer) second change ...

Drei Pelikane sind noch lange keine Kollonie ....

Dannube's delta

Ok, I am still very impressed of what I have seen there. It's really great to see how people succeded to conserve all their traditions and just to simply admire the way they're spending they're lifes ... so simple, but at the the same they are entirely satisfied and they don't wish for anything else.

On the road again

... English. I have apologized so many times in the last week for only speaking English. Then I remember what my friend RD from the ladies of Cape Florida told me with regard to European versus American bird banding: only apologize once then move on. Good advice. I should have remembered it earlier. Yes, Americans should learn other languages. Yes, I'm sorry that I have not. No, I could never speak French that would be really acceptable to a native of France ...

Boats revised

... to mid-income Miami to me - just without the palm trees. Having lived in those parts of Miami, it is easy for me to walk around here. I don't speak the language, just like in Miami. But unlike Miami, people here help if they can. In Miami, I was practically assaulted in grocery stores when I first moved there at 21 years of age for not speaking Spanish. And I did try. I was practically assaulted for not speaking it well enough. My excuse for still not ...

Welcome to Romania! No Bus No Boat No Train!

... fruitful...as the going price was over USD$350!!!! So...instead of complaining...I enjoyed 3 days in Tulcea with my new friends from Ireland and Romania! Chatting...going to cafes...meeting with boat captains and government officials (who wanted a "cut" of my travel "action")...and...finally...departing northwards. Aug 29--a stop in Galati overnight (a FREE stay with a shop owner I met on the street--THANK YOU SO MUCH! Her family invited me ...
