Our first stop is St Gheorghe, which is a typical rural town on the river. Unpaved roads and horse driven carts are a common sight. The houses are small but sturdy and a lot of them have beautiful gardens full of zinnias, canna lillies, grape vines and fruit trees. As we walk around the main part of town we notice life is simple here. Women are hanging laundry out to dry and the men are carting around everything from propane tanks to fresh ...

Plenty people approached us to sell boat excursions from Tulcia to the delta but we wanted the 1.5-hour rapid boat trip to Sulina and overnight there. From there, we wanted to explore the delta. No one from the rapid boat was around and the phone number posted didn't work. In the summer ...

    Bike Box Saga

Junko and I ran around and had hell of a time (and laughs) finding bike boxes so she and Hiro can take their bikes home. Our first disappointment was no bike boxes available for sale at Constanta airport. So we had to come up with boxes. We planned our route along a to-do list and, without ...
