... a few people lazing around smoking sheeshas. Still we had a few drinks and got chatting to some guys from Bangalore before leaving. I was glad we were heading to Baga tomorrow.
We hopped back on the bus to Mapusa, and then on to Baga. It was a much nicer beach, lots of sand, still no swimming but at least you can go in up to about waist height and swim a bit when the lifeguards weren't watching. There was a red car with a megaphone patrolling the beach, stopping to shout at ...

We caught the night train from Mumbai down to the province of Goa where the beaches have a good reputation. We were kindly woken up early by the repeated chants of 'Chai Chai Chai' from the Indian Chai tea men as they walked through the carriage every 5 minutes. Upon arriving at Margao Station we caught a taxi for the 40km drive to a place called Palolem- when we ...

On Day 3, we ate our breakfast, packed our belongings and took a cab to our next hotel, the Grand Hyatt Goa. The Grand Hyatt was a fairly new hotel and the rooms were really nice. This was where we stayed for the last 2.5 days. We spent most of the time playing cards. Each of us got a full body massages one of the days, which I enjoyed. That was my first one, and ...

This was the day to check out. The resort offers a complimentary pick up and drop service for a minimum 2 night stay and we just waited and then had the same white ambassador pick us up from the hotel and drive us to Thivim station. The nearest railhead is Thivim and it takes an hour to reach here from the resort. Thivim is a small station reachable by Konkan railway. An alternate route could also be by road to Belgaum in Karnataka.
