... places to eat. Lucy was hungry again. Oh dear. Luckily we didn't stop at one of the restaurants along the canal and walked further where we stumbled upon a large open air market. ... faced man stated "follow me madame" and led the way through the curtained doorway, pointed to the end of the room and stated "it is there"...... And there it was.....sitting by itself at one end of the long room full of books and Leonardo drawings.....the culmination of the tour.

So there was a slow stroll round the room looking at all those marvellous pieces of paper with tiny tiny writing and sketches of hydraulic systems, water pumps, battle soldier ...

... as we didn't see another adult around, but how we didn't hear the door opening is a mystery. Poor Ron had packed all he needed for the plane trip in the back-pack so Ron and Jan lost their Gortex jackets, iPad, Kindle, noise deadening earphones etc. Ron has sworn never to come back to Italy and it does leave a bad taste in the mouth to think that people go to so much trouble to cheat, scam and thieve. ... and long. Amazing detail and glistened in the sun. As this church required modest dress code we could not go in. Layla's short shorts and singlet would not get past the guard. With the heat there was no way she was going to come into town with long pants and a proper shirt on.
