This is a simple hotel, with simple rooms, with a simple breakfast, that will do job.
If you want a pool, a breakfast with 3 miles and a runaway to put the car...this is not what you are looking for.

... on the roof! This is the only cathedral in the world where you can walk on the rooftop (apparently even when it wet and rainy, like it was today). 240 steps up and 240 steps down has Mike really wishing he had a Fitbit to know. How far we've walked on this trip.

The cathedral took more than 300 years to complete and has over 3400 statues decorating it (inside and out). It's massive and pretty much beat out all of the other churches we've seen so far.

... for Milan. Not that we could afford to shop in the Galleria. We then strolled down to the Milan Castle for a look, stopping for the compulsory gelato tasting on the way. Feeling too tired to walk back to the hotel I decided it would be less effort to work out the Milan metro system than to walk and it was.

... the broad avenues of the city. There is some grand architecture here. The train station is something to behold--3 massive great halls inside before even getting to the platform area. The enormous gothic style duomo (church) in the main piazza is also impressive, even by European church standards.
