    ... the castle, where I stop for coffee. It's very steep and my legs are feeling it. I carry on and eventually come out at tiny little lakeside town. It's a beautiful (though a bit difficult) walk with magnificent views of the lake from up high. More photos. Back down lakeside, I head back towards Varenna.     ... is on Lago Di Como (lake Como). It's across the lake from Bellagio (of George Clooney fame). Took an hour to get there and Greta, my air BnB host was waiting for me. We drove to the BnB. Oh no! It's up 2 flights of stairs. No lift! Greta and I struggled up with my suitcase. I don't know what will happen in Paris. I think it's 8 floors up and no lift. ****!     ... a coffee at Bar Sport and then a walk over the hill to the little village of Pescaro on the other side of the promontory. You know this area well Anne and Rob.     ... opportunity before jumping back into the car.
    We were now heading for Italy and craving for the great coffee at Cafe Sport. The GPS directed us to Varenna and the car ferry. We were hoping like mad that the ferries were in operation. Phew, we only had to wait 20 minutes and a 10 minute ferry trip later we were in Bellagio.

    ... Like almost every building here, access means going up a steep stony trail. This particular trail is referred to as a mule path.
