It's a cool wet morning, just like home. I get the bike out of the ballroom and head off fully suited into the mountains. I manage to get onto the free roads again, I must be getting the hang of it.<br> Once again there are whisps of white clouds drifting above and below, and really high black ones dropping on me! This is probably the best road so far (Mex 190) to Santa Domingo Tehauntepec, really good surface well generally ...

Zanatepec, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kunzandwanner... decorations on the intact roofs....this was the home of Pakal one of the greatest kings, we saw the exquisite sculptured sarcophagus in the museum.......it weighed 10 tons. We moved to private buses as gave us flexibility to stop a waterfalls en route to San Crisobal. We went swimming at Agua Azul falls which was special as something we haven't done before. San Crisobal was very cold indeed as in the mountains, so chose to do horse riding ...
San cristobal de la casas, Mexico mills01480... If you pay this much attention to anything you soon see a pattern emerging. They are extremely difficult to see if they are not marked. I soon realized that they are often camouflaged by the Topas Joker! They are always in the shade! Thinking way too much about the Topas, you discover that the reason they are in the shade has a direct correlation to the folks who have to hand build them in the heat of the day!
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico jdswedOn to Puerto Arista, a relative metropolis, plenty of shops, some of them even open! Out of high season seaside towns tend to only fully open at weekends when the city dwelling Mexican hordes descend. Found a nice little place near a smelly lagoon and not far from the beach, but sadly, as often happens in Mexico, the workers started banging around at 6am - because it´s really hot later, they start work early but with no concern for their sleeping clients.
Puerto Arista, Chiapas, Mexico ccchrissieJust a stop over in this small town, where a Saturday night is spent drinking until falling asleep in the streets. It was quite funny arriving there so late, everyone just coming to us so drunk and talking to us and then after one hour seeing them sleeping outside. This time has not much apart from good hot dogs, we went to eat them at a stand where they were showing a Mexican boxing game, and i had to stasy the whole 11 rounds and cheer up with the locals...
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico luciecoxHi to you all, I think it was Saturday the 1st of March we left San Christobal for an orhanage called the Hogar Infantil, a short trip to Ocozocoautla, if you can get your mouth around that one let me know? We stopped at Chiapa de Corzo on the way and toured the spectacular Sumidero Canyon by boat for over 2 hours. 800 meter walls at it's highest point with water 160 meters at it's deepest we were told, a couple of unusual formations on the ...
Puerto Arista, Mexico mcgregors5We arrived here in the afternoon. First we were looking for Darinel´s family, the guy that got pneumonia and maybe Tuberculosis that was gonna come with us. He had sent some things, a DVD player, chainsaw, sewing machine and a small suitcase. But the thing is, neither Galación nor Bolívar knew where he lived. We did have a small poorly ...
Tonalá, Chiapas, Mexico cmnaylor... porpoises because one of the boat passengers didn´t have a safety vest on and there are patrol boats on the ocean and will give the tour group fines if they´re caught. Interesting how this American guy made out like it was this tourists fault for not having a life jacket but it was actually his fault for leaving the beach without it in the first place. Which leads me to my first meltdown. Other people I´ve travelled with have had them ...
