We've reached the Homeland. Penne & Pescara
... returning with Lauren & Aaron and swimming in the Adriatic. Although it was Fall, the weather was beautiful and we had a great stroll on the beach with gelato in hand.
We will return to Penne and Pescara. Jon's determined to learn Carmella's recipe for making prosciutto. Yes, she makes her own prosciutto.
After a few memorable days it was time to wake up from our proscuitto dream and drive North to Florence.

Ancona Friday 21st Sept Day 3 & 4
... realised it Was worth it! The 2nd floor rooms opened up onto a huge communal balcony with the most spectacular view. On one side, a mountain and the rest was a view of trees and the ocean as far as the eye could see. It was beautiful, magical. We got settled in and then headed down to dinner where we were surprised by the students and teachers who visited us in Aus last year. It was great catching up with them and seeing them in their home town. Then ...
Finally the Beach!

We were having a pre-dinner drink at a local café and the owner had her kitten there, Kate was playing with it when a stray dog chased it away. Kate managed to successfully rescue it – which was met with cries of “bravo and grazie” from the woman – it felt very Italian!

Wonderful Fun in the Sun Filled Birthday!
We spent the morning by the pool, then the afternoon at the glorious beach!
It was a wonderful birthday. We all had a fun relaxing day.
For dinner we ate at beach side cafe that had plenty of Italiano dancing, although we were not brave enough to try. You wouldn't either if you saw them go! I think ...
The wedding and BBQ
... She was very nice, no english, but we did get her to understand that we needed them for tomorrow morning, not Saturday as she offered. It is now 5:00PM, and we are having a little rest, then will head across to the beach promenade for dinner at one of the seafood restaurants. Tomorrow, after breakfast and picking up our laundry, we will then check out and drive to Bologna, where we will base ourselves for another week.
