Our last morning in Berlin. We'd have to say that we wish we would have booked more time here. Such a wonderful city, we must do it again.

Had our usual breakfast at the hotel, then back up to the room to finish packing. We left our bags in the room and walked back to the Avis Rental office to pick up our car for the remainder of the trip. Another cool day, and windy as well. We were hoping it would warm up a bit, but we ...

... of a bacon n egg McMuffin and a couple of leisurely coffees using our trusty little kettle. At least the water from the tap was icy cold, so we had been able to keep our milk relatively cool in the bathroom sink yesterday and overnight.
We picked up a few supplies in the nearby shops and then we were off again towards Gorlitz, another town recommended by Tomas, as we make our way towards Krakow. Not before we stopped for fuel and a car ...

... that was used in the Oscar winning movie The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was formerly a department store in the day and is now being renovated like so many other old buildings in this city. Spectacular!
Even though we struck out on genealogy we discovered a most beautiful intact medieval town, undamaged by the war.

Only update were I'm now.
Cut my day a bit short yesterday, because of bad weather. Stopped just short of Goerliz.
