Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. Have now planned next step over the Simplon pass to stay in a small hotel in Chamonix, hoping to see Mont Blanc before the weather closes in. From there working our way back to the channel coast over 4-5 days. All fine and jalopy holding up so far - touch wood. Love to you all again. ...

Here until Mon then probably crossing back into Switzerland and France over the Simplon Pass. Love to all. ...

It doesn't seem to be flooded like the paddies I have seen in Nepal but there is an extensive system of irrigation channels.
We were under way around 08:00 this morning. On the whole the roads have been a ...

... and various religious medals around his neck. He gave me the impression he was making his way from Rome to Santiago de Compostella and it seemed he was bemoaning the fact he hadn't eaten, or slept, or both, for a couple of days. His appearance immediately made me think of the Sancho Panchez character from the Don Quixote story, especially with him dressed in shorts, tartan socks and sandals, and pulling a suitcase on wheels with one hand and carrying an upholstered holdall ...
