... order for chivalry created by Philip the Good to commemorate his marriage to Princess Isabella of Portugal in 1430. The order survives to this day in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal


Found a soup kitchen, (one for paying customers), with soup being the main menu item. Just what we needed, as the day was definitely on the cool to chilly side, and evening fast approaching.

... MSU was paying for the bill, with the exception of alcohol. I had 1 1/2 racks of ribs, and two Duvels. I told Mark and Josh, the two guys on our trip, who I was sitting near, to try Duvel, as the girls at the table had krieks. I got fairly drunk, needless to say.
After dinner, we went and sat at the adult table, and talked with some of the students and professors. Then went back to the hotel, where I more or less passed out.

I think it is safe to say, without exaggerating, that I gained 5 kilos from this weekend alone. I had to try the ice cream, chocolate, fries, beer and waffles or else it just wouldn't be the full Belgian experience...right?
