... blocked him from our sight. As we continued downhill back to Kultbad, we kept catching glimpses of the paraglider enjoying his flight. I have to admit that I was envious of his way down the mountain.

Once we got back to Kultbad, we took the cable car down to the town of Weggis. The cable car was packed, but thankfully we each had a spot right at the front window. Some parts of the ride were quite steep ...

... next problem - the departure screen said our train was delayed 90mins!! Argh... We only had a 25min transfer at the border in Basel! Oh well - that's the drawback of train travel. Luckily with our flexible ticket we could easily opt for the 2:50pm - It just meant waiting nearly 3hrs in the spaceship. It gave me much needed time to catch up on my blog! It was disconcerting at one point to see three black beret army dudes in fatigues with guns patrolling the station. During our ...

... the 1500s, this famous bridge has been destroyed numerous times as a result of war. The last time it was destroyed was during WWII. The bridge holds tremendous meaning to the residents of the city and was again rebuilt. It is a wooden pontoon-type bridge. At one end of the bridge is a building riddled with bullet holes from the war. The holes have been left there for all to see as ...

... to take refuge in. Inside were all these huge vintage mirrors on the wall - one room held a line for the food and about 3 or 4 other rooms were unique dinning rooms - it was a fun little place. My Mum and I split a bratwurst with some mustard, bread and for dessert I had a macchiato (my addiction). While eating we sat by floor to ceiling windows looking out at the killer view. We sat there for a little while ...

... will be waiting for me when I get home?

Now that Europe has switched over to standard time, the sun is out til 8pm - a bit strange but nice as it pretty much feels like early summer with the T-shirt weather. So that's Lucerne in an afternoon. Unless you're thinking of doing daytrips to nearby Pilatus or Titlus, one day is probably good, and you'll also have time for a boat ride (free I'm told if you have a Swiss pass).
