We are very close to the German-Austrian border here, and returned to the area where we rode the luge yesterday, complete with flag-waving and national anthems going and returning! We drove to Schwangau, the childhood summer home of Bavarian King Ludwig II and the site also of the romantic castle that he built and was not able to finish due to his early death under mysterious circumstances. We drove to the car park, and Martin leapt out to obtain our ...

The hills certainly are alive in this beautiful part of the world. The scenery is just magnificent. Every corner brings another beautiful scenic view. The lush green grass, the Austrian Alps with their first dusting of snow on them, the rivers and streams with their unique colour of greeny blue caused by the limestone in the rocks, the Austrian/German style of housing all make this area so beautiful. We will surely come this way again. We ...

Innsbruck still We decided to spend another day here in Innsbruck, because Treas wasn't feeling that well this morning. I seriously think that she had over-stressed coming over the Bremer Pass, and so she spent most of the morning having a nanny-nap, before we took the bus to town, and did our usual stroll around. Now, a funny thing happened......we got off the bus, took 30 paces, and there, right in front of us was.....Swarovsky! Amazing! ...
