... oars or electric motors. We spend 2 nights here and enjoy fabulous food, including a dinner where Adam orders the Wild Boar Goulash with Dumplings. I go for the safety of the daily menu, which includes soup, vegetable strudel and blueberry cake. Delicious and nutritious, I look at horror at Adam’s dumpling as they look like they are filled with the insides of the poor wild boar. I ask the waitress if it contains offal, she confirms that is only bread and the liver was in ...

... winding footpath. No time to stop and view the cloud obscured view, but made it with 4 mins to spare. They have seats on the way, I guess you are supposed to enjoy the walk up. The ice cave has spectacular ice formations, up to 9 meters high ice towers. ... the road into the village. Walking through the village we stopped by the super market, very small and picked up some snacks and drinks to take back, plus an ice cream, sitting in the local shelter keeping dry. There was the town hall and a May pole. We later decided to have an early dinner at the hotel Howzit that served devious meals with Very friendly staff. Walking back we followed the road instead of taking the path that followed the train line ,passing a man walking his ...

... itinerary, Lake Altaussee. It was a rather small and isolated lake. I almost gave up on going before I coaxed the lazy Shirley away. I decided to walk there (roughly 7km), and then catch the bus back to Bad Aussee train station in time for the midday train to Bad Ischl. It was a good enough plan to get me moving.

The walk was pleasant and the path was popular with weekend joggers, trekkers and dog walkers alike, so I ...
